Frequently asked questions

Can I use this placement data in my own project or article?

Yes. The dataset is licensed CC BY 4.0: you can copy, analyse and republish it, including commercially, as long as you credit PlacementReport and link back to this page.

Where does the data come from?

Every row is transcribed from a college's own published placement report, press release or placement office page. The source_url column links to the original document for each report.

How are CTC figures normalised?

All CTC columns are in lakh rupees per annum (LPA). Figures published in rupees, lakhs or crores are converted; values a college did not publish are left blank rather than estimated.

How often is the dataset updated?

The files are regenerated on every site build, so they always match the reports on the site. Last content update: 2026-10-30.
