Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai: 2025 Placement Report
Numbers
Editorial review
TISS Mumbai's HRM & LR 2023-25 batch showed a tight pay distribution: a Rs 36.25 lakh highest against a Rs 28.20 lakh mean and a Rs 28 lakh median. 43% of the 70 participants converted PPOs, and conglomerates took the most joiners.
TISS Mumbai's final placement report for the 2023-25 batch covers only the flagship HRM & LR programme. The process ran in January 2025 with 70 participating students, 25 of them women. 35 companies made offers, eight of them first-time recruiters, and 65 offers were in the HR domain. The highest CTC was Rs 36.25 lakh, the top 10% averaged Rs 35.92 lakh, the top 25% averaged Rs 34.46 lakh, the mean was Rs 28.20 lakh and the median Rs 28 lakh.
These numbers describe an unusually compressed range. The top-decile average sits only Rs 0.33 lakh below the highest offer, and the gap between the median and the top-quartile average is about Rs 6.5 lakh. 60 of 70 students received Rs 20 lakh or more, and 30 of 70 (43%) converted pre-placement offers. Aditya Birla Group made the most offers, followed by Accenture Strategy & Consulting, Asian Paints, Godrej Industries and Kotak Mahindra Bank. The report says Conglomerates will take the most joiners, followed by BFSI, FMCG/FMCD, Manufacturing and Consulting.
The report has no offer-wise sector percentages; its pie chart shows the share of recruiting companies by sector, with whole-number labels that add to 102%, so it is noted under highlights rather than charted. It also gives no total offer count, students-placed figure or placement percentage. An official 2022-24 HRM & LR final report could not be found on tiss.ac.in, so no earlier year is compared here.
Key takeaways
Highest and median sit close together
The Rs 36.25 lakh highest is only about Rs 8 lakh above the Rs 28 lakh median, and the top 10% averaged Rs 35.92 lakh. That is a tighter range than most MBA reports show.
Strong PPO conversion
30 of 70 students (43%) received pre-placement offers, so a large part of the batch was placed before the final process began.
Conglomerates led joiners
Conglomerates took the most joiners, and Aditya Birla Group, Reliance Industries, Godrej Industries, L&T, RPG and Tata Administrative Services all hired. BFSI and FMCG/FMCD came next.
HR-only figures
Every number here is for the HRM & LR cohort, not TISS as a whole. Other TISS programmes and campuses report separately, if at all.
