Numbers
Editorial review
BITSoM's founding MBA class placed 132 of 135 placement seekers with 56 recruiting firms, at an audited average CTC of INR 23.50 LPA, a median of INR 23.00 LPA and a highest of INR 44.98 LPA, a strong first outing anchored by consulting.
The founding Class of 2021-23 had 138 students. Three opted out of placements, leaving 135 who sought placement through the school; 132 received offers, 1 took up an internship and 2 were still unplaced when Brickwork Analytics audited the data (as on 13 September 2023). 56 firms recruited from the batch.
The audited average CTC was INR 23.50 LPA and the median INR 23.00 LPA, with the highest at INR 44.98 LPA. The top 10% averaged INR 35.91 LPA and the top half INR 28.10 LPA, and 95 students (69% of the class) were at INR 20 lakh or above. The report also gives an average for women of INR 23.71 LPA, marginally above the overall figure, which few schools publish.
Consulting led the industry split at 27%, with a recruiter list that included McKinsey, Bain, Arthur D. Little and Kearney alongside the Big Four, followed by Conglomerate / Manufacturing at 24%. BFSI and IT & Product each took 15%, and FMCG / Retail / Media 14%. By function, Sales & Marketing (27%) and Consulting (25%) led, with General Management / Strategy at 20%, Product Management / Technology at 16% and Finance at 12%. The report does not give per-firm offer counts, international offers or a separate count of total offers.
Key takeaways
Near-complete placement for a first batch
132 of 135 placement seekers received offers, with only 2 unplaced at audit time. For a school with no alumni base yet, that conversion is the headline.
Consulting-heavy from day one
Consulting took 27% of offers, and the recruiter list included McKinsey, Bain, Arthur D. Little and Kearney. That share fell to 23% in 2024 and 10% in 2025, so the founding year is not a guide to later consulting access.
Tight pay band
The average (INR 23.50 LPA) and median (INR 23.00 LPA) were within half a lakh of each other, and 69% of the class cleared INR 20 lakh. The INR 44.98 LPA highest did not distort the average.
Of 138 students in the batch
Of 138 students in the batch, 3 opted out, 1 took up an internship and 2 were yet to be placed.

totalStudents here is the 135 students who sought placement through the school, not the full batch of 138. This year is included because BITSoM has not yet published a final placement report for the Class of 2026 on its Career Services page as of 30 October 2026.
