BITS School of Management: 2025 Placement Report
Numbers
Editorial review
BITSoM's third MBA cohort placed 138 of the 144 students who sat for placements across 46 firms, but pay fell back: the audited average CTC dropped to INR 21.00 LPA from INR 23.41 LPA a year earlier, the median to INR 20.52 LPA from INR 24.00 LPA, and the highest offer to INR 32.50 LPA from INR 50.00 LPA.
The Class of 2023-25 was BITSoM's largest yet at 153 students, and the school placed more of them than ever: 138 students received offers, against 119 for the Class of 2024, with 46 firms making offers against 41 the year before. The Dean's message frames this as a growth of nearly 20% in students placed (it cites 122 rising to 146, which appear to be the "out of the placement process" totals that include students who opted out, not the offer counts in the audited annexure). Six students were still unplaced when the audit closed on 18 September 2025.
The pay picture moved the other way. The audited average CTC fell to INR 21.00 LPA from INR 23.41 LPA, the median to INR 20.52 LPA from INR 24.00 LPA, and the highest CTC to INR 32.50 LPA from INR 50.00 LPA. The share of placed students at INR 20 lakh or above dropped to 59% (81 students) from 77% (92 students) for the Class of 2024. The top-decile average of INR 29.11 LPA sits only about INR 8 lakh above the overall average, so this was a compressed distribution with no outlier pulling the headline up.
The sector mix explains part of it. IT & Product / Ecommerce / Telecom firms took 41% of offers, up from 18% a year earlier, while Consulting fell to 10% from 23%. On the function side, Technology / Product Management roles made up 40% of offers. Both the industry and function splits are marked "unaudited" in the report; only the CTC figures and the graduation-pool table carry the B2K Analytics audit. The report lists recruiters by sector but does not give offer counts per firm, a pre-MBA versus post-MBA CTC comparison (which the 2024 report had), or international offers.
Key takeaways
Placement count up, pay down
138 students received offers against 119 the year before, but the audited median fell from INR 24.00 LPA to INR 20.52 LPA and the average from INR 23.41 LPA to INR 21.00 LPA. A bigger batch was placed at lower pay.
Tech replaced consulting as the main channel
IT & Product / Ecommerce / Telecom firms took 41% of offers (18% in 2024) while Consulting fell to 10% (23% in 2024). These splits are unaudited, but the swing is large enough to matter for anyone targeting consulting roles.
No outlier offer this year
The highest CTC was INR 32.50 LPA, down from INR 50.00 LPA, and the top 10% averaged INR 29.11 LPA. The distribution is tight, which makes the median a fair read of a typical outcome.
Read the denominator carefully
The audit counts 153 students in the batch, 8 who opted out, 144 who sought placement and 138 with offers. The Dean's "146 placed" figure includes those who left the process, so it is not comparable with the annexure's offer count.

totalStudents here is the 144 students who sought placement through the school, not the full batch of 153. CTC is first-year Maximum Earning Potential (fixed, variable and first-year joining bonus; first-year ESOP vesting only; relocation excluded), and the audit letter notes gratuity was included where recruiters included it.
