IIM Mumbai's Final Placement Report 2025 covers a batch of 479 students with an average prior work experience of 18 months. It reports a highest CTC of Rs 54.00 lakh and an average CTC of Rs 30.40 lakh, with 198 recruiters (55 of them new) and 144 PPO offers. The batch of 2024 report did not publish a batch-wide average, so the cleanest comparisons are on the tiered figures. The top 10% average was nearly unchanged (Rs 47.54 lakh against 47.29 LPA), the top 20% rose from 40.71 LPA to Rs 42.70 lakh, and the top 50% rose from 33.84 LPA to Rs 35.92 lakh. The highest CTC was the same Rs 54 lakh in both years. Recruiter count grew from 180 to 198 while the batch grew from 446 to 479, but PPOs fell from 170 to 144.

Consulting was the largest sector at 23% of offers, ahead of Manufacturing / Process at 17% and E-Commerce & Retail at 14%. Compared with 2024, Consulting rose from 18% and E-Commerce & Retail from 10%, while Manufacturing slipped from 19% and FMCG from 16% to 10%. BFSI held at 10%.

The report does not give a median CTC, an offer count, the number of students placed or a placement percentage, and it does not say whether the figures were externally audited.

Key takeaways

  1. Middle of the batch improved

The top 50% average rose to Rs 35.92 lakh from 33.84 LPA for the batch of 2024, and the top 20% to Rs 42.70 lakh from 40.71 LPA. The top 10% was flat at Rs 47.54 lakh, so the gains came below the very top.

  2. Consulting up, FMCG down

Consulting grew to 23% of offers from 18%, and E-Commerce & Retail to 14% from 10%. FMCG fell to 10% from 16%, which matters if brand management is your target.

  3. Fewer PPOs despite a bigger batch

PPOs fell to 144 from 170 even as the batch grew to 479 from 446, so more of the class went through the final placement process.

  4. No median and no placement rate

Without a median or a placed count, the Rs 30.40 lakh average and the tiered averages are the only guide to how the full batch fared.

  5. 21% of the batch came from IIT

21% of the batch came from IIT, NIT or BITS, and average prior work experience was 18 months.
