COEP Technological University
COEP Technological University, formerly the College of Engineering, Pune, was established in 1854 as the Poona Engineering and Mechanical School, making it one of the oldest engineering institutions in Asia. It operated for over a century and a half as College of Engineering, Pune, an autonomous institute affiliated with the University of Pune, before the Government of Maharashtra upgraded it to an independent, unitary public technological university in 2022. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs across computer science, electronics and telecommunication, electrical, mechanical, civil, metallurgy and materials, manufacturing, and planning. It is closely associated with the legacy of the civil engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya, one of its most celebrated alumni.
