It now operates from a permanent campus at Argul, Jatni, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar in Odisha. The institute offers B.Tech, dual degree, M.Tech, M.Sc and PhD programs organized through Schools of study rather than traditional departments, covering areas such as electrical sciences, mechanical sciences, civil and infrastructure engineering, earth ocean and climate sciences, and basic sciences. It has grown into one of the better regarded institutes among the post-2008 IITs.
