Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, commonly known as IIT Mandi, was established in 2009 as one of the second-generation IITs and is located in the Kamand Valley of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh. Its hillside campus and emphasis on interdisciplinary research, including hydro power, applied cognitive science and climate studies, distinguish it from many other IITs. The institute offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, and PhD programs across engineering, sciences, and humanities and social sciences. Its logo draws on Mandi’s landscape, featuring a suspension bridge over the Beas River rendered in blue, green and orange representing knowledge, freshness of ideas, and energy respectively.
